Covid Safety Policy
Our top priority is the health and safety of all participants, staff, and stakeholders attending the SEL & Wellness Summit. If you experience any symptoms associated with COVID-19, please take a COVID-19 test. Refrain from attending the event if you test positive or otherwise feel unwell due to a contagious illness. By registering for this event, you voluntarily assume the risk of exposure to, or infection from, COVID-19 and other communicable illnesses, and release SCOE from all liability related thereto.
Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability
Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability or expense, of any kind, that attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending the event. Attendee hereby releases, covenants not to sue, discharges and holds harmless Sacramento County Office of Education, its vendors, employees, agents, and representatives, of and from any such claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.
Photography & Video
By registering for the Summit you are acknowledging you may be photographed or recorded for educational or promotional purposes. If you would prefer not to be photographed or recorded, lanyards to indicate your preference will be made available at Summit registration.
Event Code of Conduct
Sacramento County Office of Education and the SEL & Wellness Summit team seek to ensure all attendees, staff, and stakeholders feel included, safe, and respected.
Our Commitment:
We are committed to being a safe and inclusive space for all our attendees, regardless of any protected characteristic, such as sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, or sexual orientation); age; race; nationality; ethnicity; disability; religion or belief; veteran or marital status; as well as other individual characteristics such as physical appearance, politics, or ideology. Our Code of Conduct is here to provide a clear set of guidelines to everyone in our community about the standards to which we hold you—and ourselves accountable.
Your Commitment:
With that in mind, we ask that all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and other guests be considerate and respectful. Discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated at the Summit, via the mobile app, through social media or any other online platforms for the event. Unacceptable behaviors can be many things, such as sexist, racist, derogatory, or exclusionary jokes or comments based on someone’s protected characteristic; unwanted personal contact (physical or virtual); or disrupting talks or other events. If you’re asked to stop unacceptable behavior, you are expected to do so immediately. If you persist in such behavior, you will be required to leave the Summit. Summit organizers reserve the right to remove any posts/comments made on event platforms that are deemed unacceptable and the right to limit access to event platforms for attendees that violate our terms.
Reporting an Incident:
If you experience or witness a life safety emergency, please contact your local authorities, dial 911, immediately.
If you have a complaint or concern about harassment or discrimination, or otherwise experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to speak to event staff immediately. You can also email SEL@scoe.net if you prefer.
We take all reports seriously and will take appropriate action to address violations of this policy, such as by revoking access without notice or refund or contacting venue/event security or local law enforcement.
